How We Price
The data infrastructure behind every PTSV recommendation.
Most luxury resellers price by feel. We price by data.
After two years of direct market participation across hundreds of luxury menswear transactions, we have built something most resellers do not have: a proprietary dataset that tells us exactly what the market pays for specific brands, categories, and conditions relative to original retail.
When we acquire a piece, evaluate a consignment item, or advise a client on value, we do not guess. We run it against our pricing model before making a recommendation.
The Model
Our pricing model ingests our full transaction history and applies it to new items using three inputs: brand, item type, condition, and original retail price. It identifies the most comparable historical transactions, calculates the typical discount-to-retail ratio for that brand and category, and generates a recommended listing price, a realistic sale range, an estimated net after fees, and a rationale grounded in comparable sales data.
What this means in practice
If you are buying from PTSV:
The price you see reflects what the market has actually paid for comparable items, not an arbitrary markup
We can tell you exactly which comparable sales informed the price before you commit
You are not overpaying for something that regularly clears for less
If you are consigning with PTSV:
Your piece is priced based on what similar items have genuinely cleared for, in what condition, at what retail basis, and on what timeline
You are not leaving money on the table with an underpriced listing
You are not sitting on inventory that was priced too high to ever sell
If you are seeking market advisory:
The same data infrastructure informs our analysis of brand positioning and secondary market demand
We can tell you how your product moves in the North American market and what it signals about primary demand
Every recommendation comes with the comparable transaction data that supports it
